Description

New Southern Oregon PCT Map Available! The Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, Mount McLoughlin, Crater Lake, Mount Thielsen, and Diamond Peak Wilderness, these are just a few of the highlights of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) as it travels more than 200 miles through southern Oregon. Whether you’re planning a PCT hike, want to learn more about the flora, fauna, and features of the trail in southern Oregon, or just love maps, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to add the newest award-winning U.S. Forest Service PCT map to your collection. The map, titled Cascade Series – Southern Oregon, is the seventh in what will be a 10-map PCT series and provides complete topographic and geographic coordinate information, as well as trail elevation profiles, for the PCT from Seiad Valley, California, to Willamette Pass, Oregon. Access roads, trailheads, and feeder trails that lead to the PCT are depicted. Trail trivia enthusiasts will appreciate the interesting write-ups regarding historical as well as ecological features found along the trail and in its environs. The map is printed on water- and tear-resistant paper, features beautiful photographs, and can be trimmed to show only the topographic map itself. Maps #1 (Southern California from Campo to Big Bear), #2 (Transverse Ranges from Big Bear to Tehachapi Pass), #3 (Southern Sierra from Tehachapi Pass to Le Conte Canyon), #8 (Northern Oregon from Willamette Pass to the Oregon-Washington border), #9 (Southern Washington from the Columbia River Gorge to Snoqualmie Pass), and #10 (Northern Washington from Snoqualmie Pass to Manning Provincial Park in British Columbia) are also available through the PCTA. Each costs $11.95 with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Association and the trail. The maps have been created by the Forest Service in cooperation with the PCTA, which has provided research, writing, and review services. Additionally, numerous PCTA members have generously donated photographs and time to benefit the project.
